Let's Talk Teacher Pay...Austin?!

I'm Not Sure if You are Aware      On July 6, 2023, from KXAN in Austin, Kelly Wiley reported on a faux pas regarding Austin ISD payroll. According to Wiley, $2000 retention stipend that was used as a "recruitment tool" for newly hired staff was paid out in the spring of 2023 to teachers who should not have received it. It was going good, most students were doing well on the SAQ that I was grading. This led me to possibly a false sense of positivity in how my students might have done. Then Trevor Packer, liaison for all of us teachers, states the scores were markedly low this year in APUSH, but WHAP and APEURO was a little higher. Still, I’m positiv
